هناك العديد من المصطلحات في اللغة الإنجليزية التي تستخدم كلمة Bird او أحد أنواع الطيور لتصف به شيء آخر. وقد تتفاجئ بأن عدد هذة المصطلحات كبير جداً لذلك حاولنا من خلال هذه الدروس ان نختار لكم اهم واشهر هذه المصطلحات. الان دعونا نتعرف سويا على بعض أهم هذة المصطلحات ومعانيها و أمثلة عليها في اللغة الإنجليزية.
Swan Song. - Her swan song is her award-winning movie portrayal of a legendary queen. After the movie was shown, she retired as an actress.
آخر أعمال الفنان.
Night Owl. - She is a night owl. She gets more things done late at night.
شخص يسهر كثيرا او يكون نشيط في وقت الليل.
Wild Goose Chase. -The search for the robber in this state is a wild goose chase. He must have gone out of the country.
مسعى او بحث غير مجدي و ليس ذو نتيجة.
What's good for the goose is good for the gander. - What’s good for the goose is good for the gander so whatever will be helpful for one member of the family should also be helpful for other members.
يعني المصطلح ان ماهو جيد لأحد ما هو أيضا جيد لشخص آخر.
Kill the Goose That Lays the Golden Egg. -She kills the goose that lays the golden egg each time she stops working on her projects. Those projects are expected to earn lots of passive income for her.
يعني التعبير إفساد شئ ذو فائدة كبيرة.
Goose Bumps. - The opening ceremony of the Olympics was incredible! It was so thrilling I got goose bumps!
شعور بالخوف الشديد او القشعريرة.
Ugly Duckling. -The beauty queen is an ugly duckling. She said that she was teased as a kid for her big lips.
يقال التعبير عن شخص يكون سئ في الشكل او غيره في صغره ولكن يكبر ليصبح أفضل بكثير.
Like Water Off A Duck`s Back - Her harsh comments are like water off a duck’s back. I did not pay attention to them and just moved forward.
يقال التعبير على شئ يحدث و ينتهي ويكون ليس له اى تأثير يذكر.
Lovely Weather for Ducks. - Lovely weather for ducks! Need to bring my umbrella and wear my raincoat!
التعبير يقال على الجو الممطر
As Easy As Duck Soup. - Cooking scrambled eggs is as easy as duck soup. I don’t need to be a chef to make it!
التعبير يقصد به شئ سهل و لا يوجد به أي مشكلات.
Count one’s chickens before they’re hatched. - Don’t count your chickens before they’re hatched. Remember, you should save cash because you may not get enough money in the future.
يعني التعبير التفكيبر في النتائج قبل حدوث الأمر نفسه أو بمعني استباق الأحداث.
Chicken Out Of . - He chickened out of bungee jumping. He’s actually afraid of heights!
يعني التعبير ان تتراجع عن فعل ما بسبب الخوف.
